Quite wasted the first night of the surfing break event which is why I failed to update day one photos of the surfing break's ultimate beach party. Had a wonderful time with some friends, catching up, laughing our hearts out, and drinking. Hate to admit but kind of miss those days in some way, though I'm definitely happy slowing down on these things, too. People came flocking in as the night sets in as well, and before we knew it - the beach front was totally swamped.

On day two, I couldn't get up in the morning and again meet
surfer champ and model Luke Landrigan who was sooo nice to have offered a free surfing lesson for me and Tarko the night of my interview with him, and supposedly take a picture for the magazine articles I'm doing. I know, it was unforgivable - stood up the national surfing champion and Asian silver medalist?! Aside from that, I missed the other activities that day. Got a terrible hangover really, so I decided to move the lesson in the afternoon - that never happened again because Tarko fell asleep before we even had to leave the house. Nevertheless, since I was already dressed up, I decided to go to San Juan that night and check out the Oktoberfest party. I just stayed for a couple of hours and hung out with my cousins. No more poison!
And again, since Luke was really nice, we tried to pursue it on day three. So there we were, but Tarko was surprisingly shy to him, and scared of the water or surf board I guess. My dear readers must have seen how Tarko really loves the water, but, boy, what do you know? You can just imagine how we were trying to convince him, and Luke trying to win him over. I was kind of embarrassed, because I can see how Luke was busy that day - photo shoots, friends, and all. And for that reason, I didn't pursue my surf lesson, too. So Luke advised me that we should give Tarko sometime and try it later in the afternoon which never happened again, by the way, because this time Luke had a bad headache.
Grabe. Sayang. One in a million chance to ride the waves with a champ. The good outcome though, Luke was able to entice Tarko to play with his adorable dog, River, and feed the latter with Piattos. And this, I could say, was the part Tarko enjoyed most. He was still talking about Luke and River the next day.
